SilMaker turns the main subject of a photo into a filled silhouette or an outline. You can keep the original background, use transparency or a custom color, or choose Hollow to keep the surrounding scene while making the subject area transparent. No account is required.

Making a quick silhouette should not require opening a full design application, tracing a path by hand, or learning a professional masking workflow. Many people only need a recognizable shape for a lesson, presentation, thumbnail, or rough creative mockup.
SilMaker is for quick jobs where a background remover is not enough, but tracing the subject by hand is more work than you need.
What happens to your image
The photo is decoded and processed inside your browser. The subject-detection model, mask editor, and PNG export all run on your device. The selected image is not sent to a SilMaker application server.
Transparent files and clearly separated simple backgrounds can be processed without loading the AI model. Complex photos may take longer the first time while your browser downloads the model, but the image itself is still processed locally and is not uploaded for processing.
What Smart Brush does
Automatic masks are not perfect. Thin ears, tails, hair, spokes, transparent materials, and low-contrast edges are common trouble spots. Smart Brush lets you make a rough mark inside a missing or unwanted area, then uses nearby color and edge information to find a better local boundary.
The Selection range control changes the size of that local inspection area. Tight is safer for small corrections; Wide gives the tool more context when the missed piece is larger.
Limitations
SilMaker is a quick raster tool, not a replacement for Photoshop, Illustrator, or a production cut-file workflow. It exports PNG images rather than vector paths, and some visually ambiguous photos will still need professional manual editing. It also cannot recreate parts that are missing from the original frame.

SilMaker is independently developed and maintained as a focused web tool at silmaker.com. Its public pages are kept aligned with the current conversion flow, privacy behavior, and known limitations.
Questions, bug reports, correction requests, and support messages sent to hello@silmaker.com are reviewed as part of maintaining the service.
How the tool and examples are checked
Each public release is built and checked against SilMaker's automated test suite before deployment. Those checks cover page rendering and metadata as well as core image-processing, mask-editing, output, and PNG export rules.
The example sets on the homepage were made specifically for SilMaker. Where the site labels images as actual SilMaker examples, the Filled and Outline results are direct outputs from the current tool rather than redrawn mockups.
The public documentation is reviewed when processing behavior, available outputs, privacy practices, or known limitations materially change. The date at the top of this page records the latest content review.

SilMaker is independently operated by kevin, the public operator name used on this site. kevin is responsible for the browser tool, public guides, policy updates, and support at hello@silmaker.com. The public editor creates raster PNG results: filled silhouettes, outlines, and original-color subjects with their backgrounds removed. Automatic selection can miss thin, transparent, low-contrast, reflected, overlapping, or cropped parts. Smart Brush can correct a local edge, but it cannot restore detail outside the source image or create an editable vector path.
