The service

SilMaker is a browser-based utility that attempts to detect the main subject of an image and create two configurable raster PNG result types. A filled silhouette can use the original scene, transparency, or a custom color. An outline can additionally keep the surrounding original scene while making the subject interior transparent with Hollow. Features, supported formats, and availability may change as the tool improves.

Your images and your rights

You keep whatever rights you already hold in an image and its output. SilMaker does not claim ownership of the image you select or the PNG generated from it. The conversion does not give you new rights to a photograph, character, logo, artwork, person's likeness, or other protected material.

You are responsible for making sure you own the image, have permission or a suitable license, or otherwise have a lawful basis to process and use it.

Acceptable use

• infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
• create or distribute unlawful, abusive, exploitative, or deceptive material;
• interfere with the site, bypass reasonable limits, or attempt to compromise its software or hosting;
• misrepresent an output as proof of identity, authenticity, or factual events.
• publish sexual or exploitative imagery, severe graphic violence, hate or harassment, exposed personal information, or content that facilitates illegal activity;
• flood the service with automated requests, hundreds of files in a single attempt, request-limit evasion, or deliberate storage and request abuse.

Reports and removal

For copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, safety, or other legal concerns, email hello@silmaker.com with a clear explanation and any useful evidence. Urgent or clear violations may be addressed without advance notice.

Output quality

Subject detection is automatic and can make mistakes. Fine hair, transparent objects, low contrast, reflections, overlapping subjects, and cropped shapes may produce incomplete or inaccurate results. Review every output before publishing, printing, or relying on it in another project.

No warranty

The tool is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without a promise that it will always be available, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. Save important source images and finished files somewhere you control.

Changes

These terms may be updated when the service, its business model, or legal requirements change. Continued use after an updated version is published means the updated terms apply to later use.

Current tool modes

SilMaker currently offers a filled-silhouette mode, an outline mode, and a background-removal mode that preserves the selected subject's original color and texture on a transparent PNG. Every result is raster PNG output. Review the result before using it in a public, printed, or commercial context.
