Make a product comparison slide with a silhouette

Prepare a source you may present

For a real product, use a photograph you made or have permission to use. Keep the object fully in frame and avoid a background that overlaps important handles, cables, or accessories.

The finished example uses a documented fictional explorer-robot toy source, not a koi illustration or commercial-product claim. Replace it with your own approved product source before presenting product facts.

Export the shape version

A silhouette intentionally removes material and color information. It should not be used to imply that the original product has changed or that a missing detail is absent from the object.

1. Process the product image in SilMaker.
2. Inspect the boundary where the product meets the background.
3. Download a transparent Filled result when the slide background will be chosen later.

Build the comparison slide

In a slide editor, place the original photo on one side and the actual exported PNG on the other. Label them “original photo” and “silhouette view”, then add only claims supported by the original product information.

Test the silhouette on the final slide background. A dark silhouette on a dark slide may be technically correct but unreadable from the back of a room.

Keep the two versions connected

Use the same crop and orientation where possible. If you add a color block, shadow, or title treatment in the slide editor, describe it as presentation design rather than a SilMaker export.

For a product with thin or transparent parts, show the original image alongside the silhouette and call out any boundary limitation instead of hiding it.
